The patterns, which are reminiscent of textile art, combine technical precision and artistic elements, such as delicate blurring and smudging created by handwork of craftsmen, and beautiful color gradations of red and black, and are made using the traditional Japanese dyeing technique of "shizome".
The double-fronted front can be opened to create a beautiful drape, and the front edge can be folded outward and buttoned to create a design reminiscent of a Napoleon jacket.
