This shirt has a big silhouette and features a unique geometric pattern created using a dyeing technique called "tatsumaki shibori."The cuffs are designed to give the impression that they have been rolled up. Fastening the buttons all the way to the top will create a clean and sophisticated look. This piece gives a relatively casual impression, but it can easily be paired with wide-leg slacks to achieve a more put-together look.ABOUT BLOCK PRINTINGBlock printing is a traditional Indian craft in which ink is pressed onto fabric using hand-carved teak woodblocks. Natural herbal dyes made from plants and other natural minerals are used for pigments.Block printing has an extremely long history in India, and can only be done by hand. Motifs of flowers, nuts, animals, etc. are stamped over and over again to make up the pattern, with each layer a slightly different color to the last.Due to the handmade nature of Indian block printing, you may be able to spot minor flaws such as patterns that have not been lined up perfectly. However, this adds a unique, artisanal nuance to the piece in a way that cannot be achieved by machines.Because of the natural dyes used in India, there are some precautions against uneven coloring, color loss due to abrasion or water, and color migration. Dry cleaning is basic. Please note that as the fabric is dyed by hand, the exact finish of each garment will be slightly unique.
