Y’s BANG ON! STYLE HIGHLIGHTS
TWINS IN PHOTOGRAPHS
Portraits of sisters decorate the latest collection - photos taken of model/actress Rina Onuki and her sister, which will be shown to the public for the first time ever. The atmosphere and fresh perception of these like-minded twins, introduces us to the latest creations in an intimate and unforgettable way.
Y's BANG ON, which reconstructs elements that are at the root and in the background of Y's and Yohji Yamamoto's clothing, uses layering, style arranging, and folk crafting, to express items in a practical way!
This latest collection consists of coats and blouses inspired by vivid shades of hill-tribe clothing and compositions found in old folk costumes, and pullovers made of shirt fabric with impressive blue piping on the inside, and embroideries of plants and fruit decorating the neck and sleeves, which are hand-embroidered with ribbon tape. This is the latest collection, in which primitive elements are combined and arranged with military and other modern clothing styles, and expressed in sophisticated men's silhouettes. Items such as short length trench coats, which incorporate everyday life into classic styles, are part of this unique and very Y's BANG ON!-like lineup.
This collection, which was previously available at Y's Omotesando and other selected stores, will also be available on the official online boutique starting Wednesday, January 12th.
The double-breasted, big collared coat. It is about knee length, and has a rain cover on the back. The front edges, the area around the collar, and the seams are triple-stitch tailored. The collar can be turned up using the tabs. It is finished with a textured surface and uneven seams that add depth to the silhouette. The bright blue piping on the inside and the pouch fabric on the pockets are details inspired by colors of hill-tribes. These details add a sense of playfulness to this powerful coat. The blue tape peeking out from the hem adds a surprise to the style. It can also be worn inside out to create a completely different look. Chambray gabardine fabric used for military work has been bio-aged to give it a worn-out feel. It is a modern style that combines folk craft with military fabrics.
