Ground Y is a brand that explores new possibilities in fashion through genderless and ageless styles, incorporating multifaceted elements that resonate with its concepts through the distinctive lens of YOHJI YAMAMOTO INC.

Ground Y is pleased to announce a collaboration with Yoichi Ochiai, one of Japan’s leading media artists. To commemorate the opening of null²ⁿ (Null Null Nexus), a permanent theater carrying on the legacy of null², the Signature Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Ground Y has created a T-shirt to serve as the theater’s uniform.

The design incorporates a motif from Ochiai’s work Liquid Universe, reinterpreted through Ground Y’s distinctive creative approach. Set against a black base, the design uses monochromatic white to depict fluid light in perpetual motion.

The Ground Y × null²ⁿ T-shirt has been available at the null² shop inside the venue since Wednesday, October 14.

■ Yoichi Ochiai

Media artist, born in 1987. He began his artistic career around 2010. He is a Professor at the University of Tsukuba and an Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo. As Theme Project Producer for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, he created the Signature Pavilion null². His major works include the photo book Longing for Mass (2019). His numerous awards include the Prix Ars Electronica Award of Distinction (2016), the EU’s STARTS Prize, the SXSW ARROW Awards (2019), and Apollo Magazine’s 40 Under 40 in Art and Tech.

A permanent theater carrying on the legacy of null², the Signature Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

This initiative brings together the local community and partner companies to preserve and further develop the legacy of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai in Yokohama.

Building on the experience offered at null² during the Expo, the theater presents an evolved, approximately 60-minute immersive experience that begins at the entrance, known as the “Gate,” and takes visitors through five distinct areas.
