Ground Y is a brand that proposes new possibilities in fashion through “genderless” and “ageless” styles, incorporating multifaceted elements that align with its concept—all interpreted through the distinctive filter of Yohji Yamamoto Inc.
Starting on Friday, July 18, Ground Y will launch its new 2025–26 Autumn/Winter collection. The season’s theme is “–Transformation– The Margins of Form,” centering on designs that are completed by the wearer and open to transformation. This idea of “space within form” is explored through Ground Y’s unique sensibility, resulting in a rich and varied lineup.
The collection includes pleated pieces with zippers and asymmetrical cuts that offer diverse styling expressions. Lightweight wool check fabrics bring a soft texture and comfortable wear, while items featuring utility details—such as flap pockets, buttons, and tonal stitching—combine casual functionality with a refined look. A variety of graphic motifs are also present, including chrysanthemums with a brushed texture, dynamic number compositions of curves and lines, as well as paint and stripe patterns that enhance visual interest.
Materials range from warm corduroy and double-woven melton to low-gauge knitwear with structured contrasts that highlight three-dimensional silhouettes. Sulfur-dyed garments introduce a unique faded tone, evoking a relaxed mood. The collection also includes simple yet edgy Shaka-button shirts and brass accessories inspired by chains and pins. Returning from the previous season, the overseas production series has evolved further, offering enhanced designs.
Through the fusion of precise detailing, rich materials, and ornamental elements, this collection reflects Ground Y’s distinctive aesthetic and philosophy.
