The Yohji Yamamoto 2026–27 Autumn/Winter Collection traces a journey from Japan to haute couture, and back to Japan once again.
Japan holds a profound presence throughout the collection. Its influence can be felt in the cutting, which evokes the kimono, while the traditional garment is reinterpreted from multiple perspectives across the collection.
The dresses that close the show feature prints drawn from the works of Katsushika Hokusai. For Yohji Yamamoto, whose own work has continually forged connections between Japan and the West, Hokusai remains a significant source of inspiration.
With Yohji Yamamoto's voice accompanying the show, women move down the runway as if travelling through time.
The collection invites us on an emotional journey—a timeless dialogue between eras, cultures, and ways of seeing.
