Y’s and British brand "Traditional Weatherwear" Launch Their First Collaboration
Y’s introduces its unique perspective to Traditional Weatherwear’s iconic long umbrella with a bamboo handle. This collaboration features bold long umbrellas in red and black, each showcasing a large “Y’s” logo across the fabric.
Blending graphic boldness with classic elegance, this umbrella collection is both refined and expressive. All metal parts are unified in black, while the shaft and ferrule are crafted from bamboo. Particular attention was paid to aligning the large “Y’s” logo during assembly—a challenging task due to its scale. These details contribute to the umbrella’s mature texture and sophisticated design. The umbrella is suitable for both sun and rain.
Traditional Weatherwear is a brand from the British Mackintosh Company, which began in 1974 with its signature rubberized coats. Today, the brand offers modern wear that reflects contemporary British style. The name “Weatherwear” signifies outerwear that protects from the elements, symbolizing the brand’s origin and core identity.
The plate on the bamboo handle, the ferrule tip, the “Y’s” button on the strap, and the inner umbrella ribs—all metal parts—are finished in black. The engraved logos of both “Traditional Weatherwear” and “Y’s” on the plate and button respectively serve as symbolic proof of the collaboration.
