WOOL/POLYESTER TROPICAL CLOTH + INDIAN BLOCK PAISLEY PRINT RAGLAN SLEEVE JACKET

This series combines Indian fabrics with printed textiles created using block printing, a traditional Indian dyeing technique.
This five-button notched lapel jacket features a floral patterned fabric with an oriental air that peaks out from the collar.
This piece has a distinctive silhouette with straight cut sleeves that is reminiscent of traditional Japanese clothing. The design is inspired by workwear and is highly practical. The back yoke has a gentle curve to it, and is designed to allow for unrestricted movement in the arm area.
The fabric has an elegant and smooth texture, and is thin and lightweight. It was designed for formalwear pieces suitable for midsummer weather.
The collar can be altered to create a variety of looks depending on how many of the front buttons are fastened.
The print has a charming, handmade feel to it, with slight misalignment in certain places.

ABOUT BLOCK PRINTING
Block printing is a traditional Indian craft in which ink is pressed onto fabric using hand-carved teak woodblocks. Natural herbal dyes made from plants and other natural minerals are used for pigments.
Block printing has an extremely long history in India, and can only be done by hand. Motifs of flowers, nuts, animals, etc. are stamped over and over again to make up the pattern, with each layer a slightly different color to the last.

Due to the handmade nature of Indian block printing, you may be able to spot minor flaws such as patterns that have not been lined up perfectly. However, this adds a unique, artisanal nuance to the piece in a way that cannot be achieved by machines.
Please note that due to the natural dyes used, the pattern may fade slightly over time. We encourage you to embrace this as part of the natural ageing process. Dry cleaning is recommended.
