Focusing on discharge printing, one of the traditional techniques Y’s has employed over the years, this collection explores the distinctive textures and expressions created by removing color.
Ecru dots emerge against wool gabardine. The subtle fading and irregular contours created by discharge printing lend the pattern an imperfect character and distinctive depth.
A shoulder bag crafted from denim featuring a hand-painted brushstroke pattern. Its sculptural form, created with tucks, is complemented by the dynamic movement of the freely drawn motif.
A stole featuring bold, brushstroke-like framing rendered through discharge printing. Made from soft-touch cellulose lawn, its linear geometric pattern reveals different expressions depending on how it is draped.
