Yohji Yamamoto × HUBLOT Collaboration

January 7, 2026 — Yohji Yamamoto and HUBLOT once again join forces to redefine the art of black. Marking their fourth collaboration since the first partnership in 2020, the two have elevated black from a mere color into the “Classic Fusion Yohji Yamamoto All Black Camo.” Limited to 300 pieces worldwide, this model is meticulously calculated in every texture and contrast. Matte black ceramic sculpts light and depth across the 42mm case, while a monochrome camouflage pattern adds rhythm and movement. Fabric and rubber merge seamlessly in the strap.

This collaboration transcends the boundaries of watchmaking and fashion. It is a vision—an exploration of how far elements can be reduced to their very essence. Both Hublot and Yohji Yamamoto have built their legacies by continually questioning the meaning of luxury.

The two pursue creativity through a shared approach of deconstruction. In 1980, Hublot broke with Swiss tradition through its “Art of Fusion,” combining gold and rubber to unite heritage and innovation. Yohji Yamamoto, meanwhile, has redefined the conventions of fashion since his Paris Fashion Week debut in 1981, using black as a challenge to excessive decoration and established norms. For both, black is not an absence, but the essence itself.

Hublot pioneered the all-black concept in 2006, demonstrating that light can transcend color and instead be defined by volume and texture. When Yohji Yamamoto first presented his collection in Paris in 1981, his black silhouettes were hailed as revolutionary—an anti-fashion statement that liberated creation from ornamentation. At Hublot, black is shaped through materials that play with shadow, such as matte ceramic and smoked sapphire crystal. At Yohji Yamamoto, black is expressed through fabric—layers of wool, silk, and cotton transforming its character. Both perceive black as something both visible and invisible.

“For Yohji Yamamoto, black is the color that sharpens essence, refining form and allowing silhouettes and textures to speak for themselves. At Hublot, black is treated as a living material—shaped and layered so that each surface reveals a different expression of light. This project marks our first collaboration within the ‘Classic Fusion’ line. We share the belief that luxury is not something that shines, but something that endures,” says Julien Tornare, CEO of Hublot.

Camouflage, redefined through Yohji Yamamoto’s language, emerges from an exploration of movement and material. In the “Classic Fusion Yohji Yamamoto All Black Camo,” the motif appears as a monochrome relief—black on black—dynamically shifting its expression with changes in light.

The 42mm matte black ceramic case absorbs light and accentuates shadow. The black-on-black camouflage dial subtly transforms with movement, creating a sense of dynamism through contrast. Through the smoked sapphire crystal case back, the Hublot automatic caliber MHUB1110 and its skeletonized rotor are revealed, enhancing the watch’s monochrome mystique. The strap, combining fabric and rubber, reflects the designer’s tactile couture sensibility alongside Hublot’s technical precision. Each of the 300 limited pieces is presented in an all-black box engraved with Yohji Yamamoto’s signature logo.

The new “Classic Fusion Yohji Yamamoto All Black Camo” will be available at Hublot boutiques in Japan and online at hublot.com.
