Yohji Yamamoto will release a collaboration item with Repetto on Monday, September 14.
Founded in Paris in 1947, Repetto has established its identity through the world of ballet and the exceptional French savoir-faire passed down through generations of artisans.
This collaboration is an extension of the creative dialogue cultivated by both brands. Built upon a shared vision of elegance, movement, and freedom, the collection reinterprets Repetto’s iconic “Bolchoï” through the lens of Yohji Yamamoto.
“Bolchoï” takes its name from the Bolshoi Ballet in Russia and is a ballerina shoe inspired by the structure of classic ballet pointe shoes. For this collaboration, it has been elevated into a new form that combines the character of a shoe moccasin with that of a ballerina shoe, creating a silhouette that can be described as a “moccasin ballerina” or “ballerina loafer.”
By reconstructing this iconic model through Yohji Yamamoto’s distinctive perspective, the collaboration expresses the shared values of both brands: a dialogue between tradition and modernity, and a pursuit of balance between rigor and creative freedom.
The toe features a three-dimensional front wall reminiscent of the construction of a pointe shoe. Delicate pleats evoke the structure of a traditional ballet shoe, while the elasticated opening, one of the defining features of the “Bolchoï,” softly embraces the foot.
The timeless black model, emblematic of Yohji Yamamoto, will be available at Yohji Yamamoto stores nationwide. In addition, a vivid and bold flame-like red and a modern, radiant silver will be offered exclusively at Isetan Shinjuku and Hankyu Umeda.
